With a goal to build up an inventory of the plants that find their home in the Dubois Badlands, Friends of Dubois Badlands is initiating a project to record exisitng plants in this area with a consistent process that can lead to real scientific contribution.

Join us June 7th as we observe and document the plants of the Dubois Badlands. We will be doing opportunistic plant recodings in Mason Draw, Byrd Draw,  as well as the upland area past the landfill.

You are welcome to join us for the day at 8:30 am.  We wll organize groups to cover the different areas and meet at the end to coordiate our finds.  This will serve as a baseline indicator for better designed studies next year.  Please register via email to [email protected]

The walking will not be on trails but will be easy to moderate.  The actual Wilderness Study Area is about a half a mile from the entrance points.
