Buffalo Visit

Buffalo used to roam the Badlands area and may again sometime in the future! That is part of the history of the Badlands. The Friends of Dubois Badlands sponsored a visit to the Wind River Tribal Buffalo Initiative on July 26, 2023, near Riverton. It was an amazing tour. Our small group were taken right among the herd by Jason Baldes, the Diretor and Founder of this amazing organization. The Trbal Buffalo Initiative has carefully brought buffalo back to the Indian reservation where they can freely roam in a huge fenced area. They say: "We Know Buffalo are Essential!
